The project for restoring and setting out the eighteenth-century Palazzo Santa Croce-Trigona di Sant’Elia, to be used as a centre for cultural and display activities, was commissioned from PANSTUDIO by the Regional Province of Palermo on a suggestion by of the Guggenheim Foundation in Venice. The whole upper floor with big rooms with frescoed ceilings was to be used for temporary exhibitions and activities connected to them. So as not to damage the old walls, the rooms were lined with wooden panels that, in addition to hiding the wiring and the air conditioning plant, make it easy to hang works on the walls and to illuminate them with a specific system.
