The laying out project, developed by PANSTUDIO in collaboration with the architect Gianfranco Dall’Erba, concerned the display of the big and precious collection of medieval materials present in the museum. Sculptural materials, furnishings, statues, china, jewels, objects and sacred art trappings, weapons and armour were distributed in the various rooms of Palazzo Ghisilardi Fava planning every single display apparatus (bases, supports and showcases in steel and brass), the realization of which, with elevated handicraft quality, is due to the Luigi Botta firm in Bologna. After the 1985 inauguration, the layout was completed with the Jewish Sculptures and the showcases devoted to the Cospi and Palagi collections.
