The work concerned the building finishes and the reorganisation of the museum with rooms on various levels of the castle within the programme “Museum Pole of the City of Barletta.” On the first floor the works of the Pinacotheca cover a time span going from the fifteenth century to the beginning of the twentieth century, with the Gabbiani Collection. The adjacent wing contains the Cafiero Collection of “arts and crafts.”
On the ground floor in 2013 the new sculpture collection was inaugurated. In the first three rooms there are classical, Byzantine, Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance sculptural materials. The following three, passing through multimedia installations evocative of medieval atmospheres and architectures, culminate with the scenographic layout devoted to a stone bust of Emperor Frederick II Hohenstaufen.
